Bubbles Bubbles Bubbles

The other day, I had two big bowls in the sink that needed to be washed by hand.  Because I'm willing to take any form of dishwashing-procrastination, I jumped on my idea of allowing the girls to "wash" the bowls for me.

I once remember someone saying that if you want to keep a kid busy for a long time, let them play in water.  It's true!  If it weren't for Mommy and Me at 11, these girls could have played in the bubbles all day.

They were happy enough to let me snap a few pics too!

(The first one is when they decided to paint their foreheads!)

The Dress

This dress came from dance class.  Elyse's dance class.  These things don't come cheap and after a money order was lost in the mail, this dress ended up costing us some change!

But Madelyn has made sure we got our money's worth.  No joke...she wears this thing every day!  All around the house, and to bed.  I only sometimes let her wear it out of the house but she would if she could.

When she puts it on she becomes a character.  Usually it's, "I Mary and you Gary." (The leads in the new Muppet Movie).  Occasionally she turns into Angelina Ballerina.

This girl might be an actress someday. She's always a character, does great impressions and has great comedic timing.  For now, she at least entertains us!

I found a recipe on a blog recently for sidewalk paint.  One cup water, 1 cup cornstarch and some food coloring.  We decided to use it tonight to decorate the front porch.  After the paint dries, it stays super bright.  It's supposed to wash right off too.  I think we'll leave our creations for a few days.

(Dear Elyse of the future...I know there are more pictures of your sister.  I love you so much and love to take beautiful pictures of you but you often prefer to create without a camera in your face.  I understand my darling)

This week, we were so lucky to have my friend Angela and her family come visit us from St. Louis.
It just so happens that their girls are almost the exact age as ours.  And luckily they all got along great.

We stayed busy in the few days they were here.  We went to Seal Beach in La Jolla, Legoland and spent lots of time at the beach right by our house.
The big girls became fast buddies and spent lots of time hanging out together.  They liked playing "sneak" at the park and hid from their crazy little sisters.  The little sisters were quickly nicknamed the "Crazies" by their bigger counterparts.
Thanks so much for coming guys!  We had a great time and will do our best to move to another wonderful spot next time so you can come for your vacation.

P.S. I can't figure out where all my pictures "go" on my computer once I upload them or edit them.  Some of these I had edited but I'm too tired right now to figure out where they went. :)
